As far as versatility, this chair seems to offer more than all the others. The leg rests fold up, down, and outward for when you need to get close for back tattoos. Inkbed has this option as well, only when the client is sitting in an Inkbed chair backwards to have their back tattooed, the clients foot rest is mounted to the base, which means you can only have them sitting forward. This chair has this client foot rest mounted to the chair itself instead of the base so if you need to turn the chair left or right, the clients feet move with the chair instead of dangling because the foot rest doesn’t move from being mounted to the base. What really bothers me though is how flat the seat sets. You feel like you’re constantly sliding forward so you’re constantly pushing yourself back into the seat. It’s so frustrating and uncomfortable but there’s a solution, you have to loosen the rear two bolts just a bit to allow for the bushings you’ll be putting under the front of the seat cushion. Completely remove the two front bolts under the seat cushion, and at Lowe’s for around $15 or so, on each side, you’ll add an inch and a half worth of rubber bushings, 2 large metal washers, and longer bolts, long enough to accommodate the height difference from the rubber washers on each side. This seemed to do the trick. If you’re interested in seeing what I mean, I’ve posted pictures on my Instagram page eddielollis. Other than that it would be nice if the chair set about four inches lower In it’s lowest position. The artist chair I tattooed from before i can no longer use because it won’t go up high enough to even tattoo the side of someone’s arm, and that’s when I have the needlejig client chair all the way down in its lowest position. Just wanted to give an honest review for anyone interested since when I looked and asked, I didn’t find anything mentioning any of these things.
REPLY: Thank you for your review. We work hard to make things better on our equipment all the time. I would like to warn people against modifying their gear though. That will invalidate any warranty work that we might offer regarding parts affected by the modifications.
It took me a while in committing to getting this chair cause' it looked a bit " flimsy" on the online pics....boy was I wrong! It has totally exceeded my expectations!!! It's thick and robust! It is well made, aesthetically it's a beautiful crafted chair. My clients are happy and comfortable and it makes transitioning from positions to positions a breeze. A total hit! I thought I was going to lose day of work with picking it up in the Mass warehouse and assembling it back in my studio in NY, boy was I wrong again! It's all ready pre-assembled only thing you have to do is basically attach all the attachments and you are ready to make some money with this beaut! I highly recommend this chair to any tattooist or piercer. You are def getting the best bank for your buck! Shout out to the homies @ Travis and @Dave from NeedleJig in Mass.
I ordered this after doing just a few day of research. There was only one other bed i could find that seemed to be just as good. But it was 100 more. The bed seems to be pretty stable. My customers have said that it is very nice to sit in compared to the old barber chair i had before. My only complain is that i wish the arms rest would be alittle more adjustable. and the foot rest is to low at the highest setting. Ill be able to fix that with alittle metal fabrication. All in all not a bad buy at all!
built strong and worth every penny.Attachments make tattooing a breeze and comfortable for both client and artist.
